Q-Sense Electronics Unit, QE 401

The QE 401, is the core of the Q-Sense E4 system and contains all necessary components to enable high performance, multi-sensor, temperature controlled QCM-D measurements. A QCM-D or QCM system is never more accurate than the reference oscillator of the electronics. Q-Sense E4 uses an extremely stable reference oscillator, which guarantees minimum long and short term frequency deviations. 

QE 401 means high sensitivity, in ideal conditions in water 0.5 ng/cm2, and very high time resolution; up to 100 data points per second, frequency and dissipation values simultaneously. To ensure quick data transfer USB 2.0 is used. The frequency range is 1-70 MHz which allows overtone measurements up to the 13th overtone (65 MHz) using 5 MHz crystals. To facilitate electrochemical measurements, the QE 401 decouples the sensor crystals electrically from ground.
